Two Announcements from Broadsoft

IP Telephony platform vendor Broadsoft has made two strategic announcements this week.

Firstly, Huawei has selected BroadSoft for a global IMS deployment, allowing the delivery of comprehensive services such as IP Centrex and PBX and accelerating the global deployment of IP-multimedia services - especially in the Enterprise market segment. Huawei joins Ericsson and Lucent in implementing BroadSoft's VoIP applications server as part of their IMS solutions.

BroadSoft has also announced it is introducing a BroadWorks Mobility Manager, enabling mobile operators to bridge the gap between mobile and VoIP networks. Mobility Manager provides call routing, continuity, and seamless handover between IP domains and circuit-switched domains. Compatible with both GSM and CDMA networks, the solution allows 2G and 2.5G mobile phones to access a SIP-based platform and obtain enhanced business services.
