The report, The Future of Communications and Collaboration for Local Authorities and the Community, commissioned by Freedom Communications, presents a vision of how UC technologies can effectively serve citizens better, faster and at lower cost, while providing a modern working environment that encourages flexibility and collaboration.
Research among 170 IT decision makers within UK local authorities suggests they are ready to embrace this vision, with almost half (48%), planning to introduce UC by the end of 2013.

The report will be launched by Richard Harrington MP at an event at the House of Commons on 16th May 2013 to present the vision for collaborative, efficient and effective local government. He will be joined by Julian Massel, Head of ICT Strategy & Client Services, Rochdale Council and David Hipwell, UC/Lync Voice Lead, Public Sector, Microsoft.
