Unified Group to Showcase Services and New Offices

Berkshire based Voice and Data Convergence specialists Unified Group, is holding an Open Day on 4th December to celebrate its move to bigger offices in Calcot near Reading. The company recently moved to the Calcot site to accommodate a growing team of engineers and office staff.

Visitors to the Open Day will be able to see demonstrations by Unified Group and partners Nortel, Witness Systems and Datapulse, as well as a presentation from Unified Group’s Managing Director Michael Lloyd. On show will be the latest Nortel Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) products which are designed to work closely with Microsoft’s Live Communications Server.

Unified Group work with a number of well known, high profile customers including: The British Red Cross, Legal and General, Cardiff County Council, Logica CMG and Chubb Insurance. The team has over 400 years of combined networking experience and works closely with Nortel, being one of the highest accredited Nortel partners in the country.

“This is an exciting time for us, with the move to larger premises and the increasing growth of business opportunities,” says Mark Hyland, Business Development Manager for Unified Group. “Unified Group identified early in 2005 that a re-launch of the business, around the support and services we offer, would help our customers achieve a truly converged network environment. With this process we were able to improve the services offered, and in addition we were able to retain not only all of the key staff within the business but also all of our customers.”

Unified Group created two main businesses - Unified Networks Services Ltd, to focus on the provision of solutions to customers (who typically are the larger companies and organisations in the United Kingdom) and Achilles Professional Services which offers services to key alliance partners.

“The main differences between the business model we are running today and the previous model is that we focus totally on providing support and services - product supply is just another service,” says Mark Hyland. “Historically, our model was product focussed with support and services as an add-on approach.”
