Varlink get rugged

Varlink is taking a step towards the rugged Smartphone market, in becoming UK distributor for Seals and its two ultra-rugged devices.

Seals have two devices; the TS3 and VR7 in its portfolio, both of which will be available from Varlink. The TS3, ultra-rugged Smartphone is IP68 rated and runs on Android 2.3.6 operating system, with dual SIM capabilities for making and receiving calls. The Smartphone has a large 3.5” HVGA Capacitive Touch Screen, allowing workers to easily demonstrate information and operate the phone out in the field. With a suggested list price of £315, this is an ideal, low-cost rugged Smartphone solution for challenging environments.

The VR7, like the TS3 from Seals is tested and certified to MIL-STD 810G standards, not only this but it is IP67 rated, with a 2 meter drop to concrete specification. The ultra-rugged GSM phone runs from Java operating system and is equipped with a 2 megapixel waterproof camera. With a suggested list price of £239, this makes an ideal solution for workers requiring a rugged phone out in the field.

Mike Pullon, Varlink CEO explains “the Seals devices, not only provide us with another IP68 ultra-rugged option for our resellers but also take us a step closer into the Smartphone market, differentiating our products from our competitors. Furthermore the Seals devices are positioned at a competitive price and we look forward to offering our resellers an alternative option which doesn’t compete with our current products and manufacturers.”
