Veeam Launches Availability Suite

Cloud
Cloud adoption is soaring. According to IDC, worldwide spending on public cloud computing will increase from $67 billion in 2015 to $162 billion in 2020, attaining a 19% CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate).

As enterprises move to the cloud, however, ensuring data Availability has become more critical. This includes making sure that users can access information at any time and from anywhere.

Veeam has announced that today Veeam Availability Suite is available to customers of VMware Cloud on AWS. This means AWS technology partners can enable customers to deploy the same proven solutions in both the public and the private cloud.

“I am excited about this announcement as it reaffirms Veeam’s commitment to delivering Availability for any service, across any platform,” said Peter McKay, Co-CEO and President.

As enterprises accelerate adoption of hybrid-cloud implementations, they need to migrate workloads to the cloud simply and efficiently, while also leveraging their investment in Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) technologies. VMware simplifies deployment and eliminates the need for partners to refactor solutions for VMware Cloud on AWS. Customers also benefit from this combination of Veeam and VMware Cloud for AWS, which will blend the capabilities of VMware vSphere, vSAN and NSX in private, public and hybrid cloud environments and advanced AWS services.

“VMware Cloud on AWS provides customers a seamlessly integrated hybrid cloud offering that gives customers the SDDC experience from the leader in private cloud, running on the leading public cloud provider, AWS,” said Mark Lohmeyer, Vice President, products, Cloud Platforms Business Unit, VMware. “Solutions such as Veeam Availability Suite enable IT teams to reduce cost, increase efficiency and create operational consistency across cloud environments. We’re excited to work with partners such as Veeam to enhance native VMware Cloud on AWS capabilities and empower customers with flexibility and choice in solutions that can drive business value.”
