Vegastream Completes SME to Campus Product Portfolio

Vegastream, the developer of IP gateways has announced the general availability of the Vega 50 Europa, specifically designed to enable the smaller enterprise to move efficiently and cost-effectively to IP networks. The news closely follows the announcement of Vegastream’s largest enterprise gateway, the Vega 5000, completing Vegastream’s IP Gateway portfolio, meeting the needs of the SME right up to the Campus environment.

The Europa 50 has been designed specifically for the European market where ISDN is still prevalent and supports up to 4 or 8 basic rate ISDN channels or up to 10 analog ports. Connecting a range of legacy telephony equipment, including PBX’s, ISDN telephones, analog phones and the PSTN to IP networks the Europa 50 has proven interoperability with a wide range of existing telecommunications and VoIP equipment.

Scott Dobson, Managing Director, of UK distributor of IP Telephony products and services, VComm, comments, “ The Europa is the product we’ve been waiting for. With its attractive price point, the Europa is leading the way in making VoIP affordable for enterprises - its got all the capabilities of the larger gateways but at a price that is perfect for the SME.”

Steve Davis, VP Sales and Marketing at Vegastream explains, “The Europa is the smallest product in the Vegastream portfolio, and now with both the Vega 5000 and Europa available, service providers can deliver services to meet the telephony needs across the full spectrum of businesses whether an SME, large enterprise or a campus site.”

Representing Vegastream’s next generation of software developments, release 8.1 builds on the success of its previous products, focussed on enhancing the user experience for the customer, and the provider implementing the gateway. Providing stress-free implementation with its advanced configuration tool, 8.1 allows for quick and confident provisioning of the Vegastream gateways via an intuitive web interface and step-by-step reference guide.

“These latest hardware and software releases really consolidate Vegastream’s position as a leader in the marketplace,” Davis concludes.” We are focussed on offering the breadth of portfolio and comprehensive functionality that will fulfil the growing customer requirements for VoIP and supporting the IP services that service providers can offer.”
