Viatel Introduces Special Credit Crunch Packages

Viatel, the business communications provider, announces the launch of a series of initiatives to help companies, as the current economic climate begins to take its toll on UK businesses. With many companies looking at budget restrictions and business restructuring, Viatel has put together a series of offers planned for the next six months to help companies find the right balance between cost cutting measures and maintaining a dynamic business.

Michael Davies, head of product management at Viatel, explains the company’s aims. “We have designed a series of initiatives to help companies cope with the turbulent times they face in the current economic climate. Each offer we introduce over the coming months is designed to tackle the varied problems our customers have been telling us they are coming up against and will include flexible payment and contract terms, commercial offers, flexible solution design, scalability and technology future proofing. Each initiative is designed both to help companies weather the current climate and also ensure that they are in the best possible shape when they come out the other side.”

Viatel’s first offer is designed to allow companies to explore the possibility of relocating servers to its recently opened Reading data centre. IT Managers are looking at cost savings through server consolidation as well as from potentially closing offices. Co-locating these servers in Viatel’s high powered (3kw per rack), highly secure facility can offer a real option to IT managers struggling with the problems associated with the recession as well as helping to future proof their technology.

For a limited period Viatel is offering 33% off the cost of its Ethernet and Internet Access services at Reading with flexible payment and contract terms available. The offer also includes a ‘pay-as-you go’ power charging system.

“Our first offer is focused on helping companies deal with moving servers out of offices and consolidating resources in a data centre, whilst reaping the benefits of hosted applications. We hope that the financial incentive of the offer will help companies to see the full potential of co-location, which will prove a benefit to businesses in good and bad times. Viatel believes that this, along with future offers planned over the next few months, could make a real difference to companies bottom lines, in a climate where IT budgets are under more scrutiny than ever before,” concluded Davies.
