VIP and Opal Get Connected

VIP Computer Centre Ltd (VIP), the UK independent distributor of computer components and peripherals, today announced the launch of a new service made available to the Warrington distributor’s customers, in the shape of B2B Broadband from the UK’s largest Internet Services Provider, Opal.

Historically a product focused distributor, the decision marks VIP’s first large-scale attempt to offer services.

“We have chosen to partner with Opal for many reasons. Their knowledge and experience are second to none, and their pricing structure is extremely competitive”, commented Mark Lynch, Product Manager at VIP.

Opal’s broadband service is tailored to meet the needs of each and every business. With up to 24Mb downstream and 1Mb upstream as standard, Opal offers prioritised bandwidth for business traffic and a business-grade router – all for just £10 per month.

“What’s really great about the Opal service is the option for customers to create their own Broadband package. Customers can pick and choose ‘Builders’ for just £6 each to add on to the standard package, providing access to extras such as unlimited peak time calls, free minutes to mobile phones and international numbers”, added Lynch.

Andy Hollingworth, Director of Wholesale at Opal commented: “We are delighted to be working with VIP Computers to take our premium broadband value proposition to a wider spectrum of the ICT partner community. Not only does the proposition give resellers the flexibility to add features as and when they need them, but because data and voice is offered as a single contract, it is really easy to manage, keeping time and costs spent on admin to a minimum.”

He added: “We are continually developing a comprehensive range of business services on the back of the on-going investment in our next generation network (NGN), that will offer partners considerable opportunities to grow their broadband and communications business.”
