Virgin Media claims it will shake up mobile

Virgin Media has stated it is shaking up the mobile phone market this April with the launch of a range of tariffs designed to offer consumers choice and value in a market traditionally littered with complicated options, it claimed.

Using its unique quad play offering, the new range of tariffs come with exclusive benefits for existing Virgin Media customers with fixed line services, as well as exceptional bundle savings.

Graeme Oxby, executive director of mobile and home phone at Virgin Media said: “This move kicks off the next phase of Virgin Media's successful quad play strategy. Our new tariffs and bundles for mobiles and landlines have been built on the principles of simplicity and flexibility, with a revolutionary approach to maximise bundling benefits for customers; calling between friends and family members has never been such good value, with free calls between Virgin home phones and Virgin Mobiles, exciting new handsets and market leading tariffs for mobile users.”

For customers looking to benefit from easy to manage contract options, the new monthly tariffs from Virgin Media follow a simple pricing pattern making it easier to work to a monthly budget. From just £10 per month with free phones on 18 and 24 month contracts, the new tariffs will allow customers the flexibility of reducing their monthly cost by £5 by choosing a longer contract, or conversely choose a shorter contract for an extra £5 per month.

For customers happy with their current phones, Virgin Media’s SIM Only tariffs offer exceptional value with a flexible 30 day rolling contract. With low monthly costs starting from £10 per month for an unbeatable combination of 200 minutes and unlimited texts, rising to £20 with 800 minutes and unlimited texts and unlimited web too, SIM Only tariffs provide an attractive option for customers looking to save on monthly costs.

With all the above options, Virgin Media customers who already have fixed line services will be able to take advantage of exclusive bundle benefits and savings. On Pay Monthly tariffs, Virgin Media customers can get most of our handsets on tariffs that are £5 cheaper per month than the general public can get them on or they can choose a better handset for the same monthly cost. Furthermore, in addition to the usual inclusive texts and minutes, Virgin Media customers exclusively receive inclusive talk time to other Virgin Mobile phones on tariffs from £10 per month, with unlimited Virgin Mobile to Virgin Mobile calls on selected Pay Monthly and SIM Only tariffs from £15 per month.

Also, from April, customers with home phone services will be able to make free calls to Virgin Mobiles during their home phone inclusive periods. With three flexible home phone options for inclusive Weekend calls, Evening and Weekend calls or Unlimited Anytime calls, there’s never been a better way for families and friends to stay connected with free calls from their landline to Virgin Mobiles.

The new Pay As You Go Simply 8p tariff gives Virgin Media customers a great way to stay in touch with a simply brilliant low cost tariff, as well as being able to take advantage of free home phone to Virgin Mobile calling. At just 8p for calls to UK landlines or mobiles at any time and 8p for texts to UK mobiles, Simply 8p is perfect for customers not wishing to be tied into a contract, or looking for easy to budget cost effective ways to keep family members connected. Simply 8p also offers 50 free minutes to other Virgin Mobiles each month whilst in credit. Even keeping in touch with friends and family abroad has been made easier, with international calls and texts both charged at just 16p per minute or text.
