The Virgin Media Player app will also be available to download free from the Nokia Ovi store for any Nokia N8 customers on any mobile network.
The Virgin Media Player app provides a gateway to a wide range of great mobile-optimised content from 4oD, Comedy Central, MTV and Nickelodeon, for any Nokia N8 owners to enjoy TV on the go. Shows such as South Park, The Inbetweeners, The Hills, The IT Crowd, Spongebob Squarepants and many more are already available, with new shows being added all the time.
The launch of the Virgin Media Player app on the Nokia N8 forms part of the company’s multi-screen strategy to give customers the flexibility to watch content across screens, from TV, to online, to mobile.
The Nokia N8 is also great for creating content with its ability to shoot high definition video at 720p which can be played back on an HDTV through the integrated HDMI connection. With an impressive 3.5 inch high resolution capacitive touchscreen, 12 megapixel camera with a Carl Zeiss wide angle lens and a Xenon Flash for fantastic performance in all light conditions, the N8 features unrivalled photo and video capabilities.
The Nokia N8 also comes pre-loaded with BBC iPlayer and YouTube apps. With 16GB of internal memory, expandable up to a massive 32GB through the addition of a microSD card there’s ample storage for music, photos and HD recordings. Complete with the latest Symbian^3 operating system, there’s thousand of apps available through Nokia’s Ovi Store as well as a wide range of home screen widgets designed to keep N8 owners truly connected.
