Virtuoso becomes the latest CSP to certify against the CIF Code of Practice

APM Group, the Cloud Industry Forum’s (CIF) independent Certification partner, has today announced that Virtuoso, an IT consultancy, has successfully self-certified against the CIF Code of Practice (CoP), signalling their commitment to best practice in transparency, accountability and capability.

Virtuoso is an innovative IT consultancy and service provider that specialises in transforming business requirements into effective technology solutions. With offices in London and New York, providing services to local and global markets, Virtuoso’s customers range from FTSE 100 companies to SMEs and public sector organisations.

The Code of Practice, initially launched in 2010 following an extensive period of public consultation and piloting, is a credible, certifiable tool that allows Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) to demonstrate that they meet specified requirements of transparency, accountability and capability. It aims to standardise enterprises offering Cloud services to provide clarity, transparency and assurance to end users seeking to migrate to the Cloud.

Commenting on the drive to certification, Markus McIver, CEO of Virtuoso, said: “The rapid growth of cloud over the past few years has given rise to countless CSPs in the market. Although many of these are highly credible, there are, however, those whose public claims will not pass the test of scrutiny. The CIF Code of Practice is an incredibly valuable and much needed tool, which aims to provide end users with enough information to make informed decisions about their choice of cloud provider.

“Virtuoso aims to combine the best people with the best technology to provide optimal productivity gains and cost savings for our customers. Our certification against the Code of Practice is further evidence of our commitment to our customers and to best practice, so we are very pleased to have made the grade,” he continued.

Richard Pharro, APM Group’s CEO, concluded: “The CIF Code of Practice has been developed to provide comfort for end users, and ensure that reputable CSPs can receive the market recognition that they deserve. Virtuoso’s customer-driven mission statement is very much aligned with that of the Cloud Industry Forum. As such, we are very pleased to have Virtuoso on board.”
