Backed by two leading institutional investors, Brockton Capital and Frogmore, Virtus is a well-capitalised and financially-secure developer and operator in the co-location space. The Enfield data centre provides 26,866 sq. ft. of data floor space to a varied range of data intensive customers; including system integrators, Cloud organisations as well as financial services and media companies.
The fully resilient 19km dedicated fibre infrastructure will connect Virtus directly to Geo’s 3,000km national backbone. The majority of the network will be delivered via the London sewer system which will ensure Virtus’ customers will benefit from one of the most secure and robust assets in the UK. Geo’s dedicated fibre model will ensure Virtus’ customers have access to virtually unlimited capacity over a carrier-grade national network, connected into all major telehouses with over 100 points of presence (PoPs) across the UK.

A key driver in Virtus’ decision to select Geo was its ability to provide an open access network, allowing a full spectrum of carriers to use the new infrastructure. Illustrating the point, the new deal will also take in a leading global provider of IP-based services into the data centre as a second connectivity provider.
