Vodafone 360 and Samsung Mobile UK sponsor The Big Game 2

Networks & Network Services
Samsung and Vodafone UK have announced the joint sponsorship of The Big Game 2, at Twickenham stadium on 27 December.

The Big Game 2 is set to be one of the biggest events of the Rugby Union calendar as Harlequins take on Wasps in the Guinness Premiership clash. The first Big Game event was held in 2008 and was an unprecedented success, attracting a record number of fans.

The sponsorship is to support the launch of the Vodafone 360 Samsung H1 handset, the first in a number of handsets which delivers Vodafone 360, a brand new set of internet services for the mobile and PC which gathers all of a customer’s friends, social networks and online communities, entertainment and personal favourites (like music, games, photos and video) in one place.

Mark Mitchinson, vice president, Samsung Mobile UK and Ireland, said: “We’re really excited to be sponsoring what’s set to be a fantastic family event; one of the biggest ever held in club rugby that I feel will surpass the astounding achievements and overriding success of last year’s spectacle. It’s also the perfect platform for Vodafone 360 and the Samsung H1 handset which will undoubtedly resonate with the thousands of fans attending The Big Game 2.”

Commenting on the partnership Mark Evans, Harlequins CEO, said: "We are thrilled that Samsung and Vodafone 360 have joined forces to sponsor Harlequins’ Big Game 2. They witnessed the success of last year’s event and saw the potential of being involved with this year’s Big Game 2. Quins Vs Wasps on 27 December 2009 will be even bigger and better and with what will hopefully be a full house inside Twickenham Stadium, there is a fantastic opportunity for Samsung and Vodafone to get in front of over 80,000 fans in addition to the sizeable television audience.

"They will also be contributing to the supporters matchday experience with activities and promotions planned in the Guinness Village at Twickenham Stadium pre-match and entertainment at half-time to complement what we already have going on throughout the day. We are delighted to have them on board and we look forward to working with each other to develop a mutually beneficial partnership," he continued.

Vodafone 360 automatically syncs all contacts from your phone, Facebook, Windows Live Messenger and Google Talk, and will soon also include Twitter – bringing your online social networks to your phone. Vodafone 360 also automatically backs up all phone content to the internet, meaning you never lose another contact, picture or video ever again. The 3.5’’ widescreen shows everything in sharp, clear detail and the touchscreen with 3D means you can say goodbye to endless scrolling. As the Samsung H1 is designed especially for Vodafone 360, you get the very best experience the new service has to offer.
