Vodafone UK offers value roaming

Vodafone customers using their mobile abroad for calls and using the internet are set to get even greater value.

From 15 June, customers will pay only £1 per MB for the first 5MBs in Europe, and £3 per MB for the first 5MBs in the rest of the world, the best value amongst all the UK mobile operators for the typical mobile internet customer using their phone overseas.

Customers who are using their phone or mobile broadband abroad will also be receiving a free real time text alert each time they are about to reach the end of their data allowance, allowing them to monitor their data usage and making it easier to control their spend.

The new alerts mean that customers can keep in touch with friends and family on Facebook, read their emails or check the sports results and news from back home without the worry of going over budget.

Customers travelling to South Africa during June and July will benefit from a special Vodafone Passport promotion where for a 75p connection charge customers calling back home from South Africa can enjoy their normal UK rates. For pay monthly customers, if they have inclusive minutes, or pay as you go customers, Vodafone Freedom Pack minutes, the cost of the call is taken from these and texts cost a flat rate of only 11p.

To make it easier for customers to work out the cost of calling and texting from anywhere in the world, Vodafone has simplified charges into four zones: Europe; Asia Pacific; North America; and the Rest of the World.
