VoSKY Helps Global Payment Systems Manufacturer Cut Phone Bill

Leading manufacturer of payment systems MEI, has deployed VoSKY’s PBX-to-Skype gateways to enable free Skype calling for remote and mobile employees, cutting long distance calling costs and increasing intra-company collaboration.

Since installing two VoSKY Exchange Pro VIS8 gateways to its Avaya IP PBX and MPLS at its offices in the US and UK, MEI has reported savings of 30% per month on its international phone bill by using cost-effective SkypeOUT rates.

The VoSKY gateways enable MEI’s remote and mobile associates to dial into MEI’s conference centres and call other MEI sites from all over the world for free using Skype. With headquarters in Pennsylvania, USA and sales offices and manufacturing facilities worldwide, MEI views the Vosky Exchange implementation as a key component of the overall telecommunications strategy.

Randy Ticcino, Telecommunications Manager for MEI, said: “We knew that enabling our associates worldwide to utilize this system would deliver significant cost savings to the business and improve our overall communication system. Adding the VoSKY Exchange to our Avaya IP PBX has provided a bullet proof, high quality remote client that increases our ability to collaborate as a company, whilst importantly cutting business costs.”

David Tang, global VP of marketing for VoSKY, said: “As well as helping MEI significantly cut the cost of its international phone bills, the VoSKY gateways have helped the business to improve levels of communication between its offices and with remote and mobile associates.

“VoSKY offers businesses an easy and cost-effective way to integrate Skype into their communications network, with no complex or expensive infrastructure upgrade. In addition to this, the gateways enable better control and management of Skype in the enterprise network, giving IT and Telecommunication’s managers one less thing to worry about.”

MEI has added global dialling between offices, ultimately reducing international long distance costs with trunking applications as current contracts with Carriers expire. In addition, MEI plans to deploy a VoSKY gateway in Switzerland and Mexico later this year.

The VoSKY Exchange Pro VIS8 is a stand alone, rack-mountable FXS PBX gateway, which connects up to eight analogue trunk ports to Skype. Multiple Exchange Pro gateways in different office locations can be interconnected together to enable free calls between colleagues.
