weComm Wins Symbian Star Developer Award

weComm, mobile data solutions business, has announced that it has won a Star Developer Award from Symbian, developer and licensor of Symbian OS, the open operating system for mobile phones.

The Star Developer Awards recognise the most unique and innovative applications developed for mobile phones based on Symbian OS, as chosen by Symbian stakeholders Forum Nokia, Motorola, NAVTEQ and Symbian Academy.

weComm’s award was voted by Motorola for Sky Anytime on Mobile which is pre-loaded on several Motorola handsets. The award was presented to Oliver Sturrock, chief technology and strategy officer at weComm by David Wood, EVP Research, Symbian.

Sky Anytime on Mobile is an interactive TV application that extends Sky's digital TV experience to the mobile platform. As well as offering access to on-demand news, entertainment and sports, Sky Anytime on Mobile provides access to over 40 live mobile TV channels. In addition, customers can use their mobile phone to view and search Sky’s full 7-day electronic programme guide (EPG), and set their Sky+ PVRs to record programmes with a single click directly from the mobile EPG.
