Westcon has announced a comprehensive strategy to recruit and develop partners to capitalise on a >$3m growth opportunity it expects with Extreme Networks. Westcon, Extreme’s Global Distributor of the Year, has backed its Time to Change strategy with additional investments in sales and pre-sales, training, technical, services, finance and marketing resources. The Time to Change team will work directly with partners to fast-track their Extreme Networks’ engagement, on-boarding and revenue generation. Joint business planning will target long-term growth in markets relevant to each individual partner, and as the only distributor to be an Extreme Authorised Training Partner, Westcon will provide free initial sales and technical enablement training and a subsidised learning pathway to fully support partners’ aspirations.
Westcon UK&I MD, Antony Byford said: “Now a clear number three in the market and recognised as a serious networking challenger and wireless leader by Gartner, Extreme Networks presents partners with a profitable long-term opportunity and option. We are backing Extreme with our Time to Change investment and looking to build the Authorised partner base to deliver the growth we anticipate. Partners will find an unrivalled depth and availability of Extreme expertise and experience in the Westcon team that’s 100% focused on getting them commercially active and benefiting from Extreme’s new channel investments and programmes.”
Danny Penny, Westcon Extreme Networks Vendor Manager added: “We’ve worked with Extreme for over two decades and have never seen such an appetite in the channel for a responsive, innovative and partnership driven end-to-end infrastructure vendor. That vendor is Extreme Networks and the channel is responding. This year we have grown every quarter and outperformed our recruitment of Mobiliser and Authorised partners. With Westcon driving partners’ enablement, business building and support capabilities, switching to Extreme Networks has never been simpler or so risk-free. For many partners now is the perfect time to change.”
