Westell Converter of Choice

Basingstoke based company Westell is a specialist at getting seemingly disparate communications protocols to talk to each other.

Managing Director David McKeigue told Comms Business Magazine he has been successful in selling his IP2000 plus to BT and many local authorities and is set to launch a new IQ3000 version which, ‘by popular demand’ is going to be rack mountable.

“This time we will also have a web interface for remote site management which means that the application can be sold as a managed service. BT had requested this feature and is set to launch a service called PBXNET. Here BT will use our products to link PBX systems still using DPNSS where users want to migrate to IP networking. Our products will enable this functionality so that ROI in the original PBX is extended.”

Another customer, HSBC, has deemed Westell products to be their ‘converters of choice’ and bought more than 30 units. Distributors for Westell products include Westcon and Voice Comms Warehouse.
