Air IT have announced the appointment of industry veteran, Mark Whitehead in a new role as Sales Director.
The new appointment follows Air IT’s recent backing from private equity firm, August Equity, and several changes to the leadership team including John Whitty succeeding the company’s Founder, Todd McQuilkin as CEO.
Having spent more than a decade across sales and marketing within the IT and communications sector, Whitehead will lead Air IT’s sales strategy to drive ambitious plans to grow organically and through acquisition.
Speaking for the first time in his new role as Sales Director, Mark Whitehead said, “My experience and success in the IT industry have been stimulated by introducing new technologies at the right time that are game-changing for businesses.
“To join the company at this time is a really exciting prospect. I’m eager to continue to build on Air IT’s success as a leading MSP having grown 30% year on year for the past 3 years, and to help new and existing clients transform in the post-pandemic era with the technology and support they need to thrive, providing them with a competitive advantage over their peers.”
As well as a faster transition to cloud-based technology and infrastructure, Air IT expect future growth from both their cyber security and business intelligence services. As businesses become more data heavy, there will be increased need to consolidate information as well as greater emphasis on data protection due to cyber security threats.
Whitehead concluded by saying, “Being local to the business, I have been an admirer of Air IT for a number of years and have the upmost respect for the company, its customers and its team. So, to now be working for one of the UK’s leading Managed Service Providers’, Air IT, is a real honour and privilege.”
John Whitty, Chief Executive Officer at Air IT said, “It’s imperative that we attract the very best talent in order to maintain the highest standards, which our customers have come to expect for the past 15 years. With the addition of Mark as sales director, it will allow us to strengthen our service further and help clients enhance their businesses as we move into the next phase of our development.”
