Wick Hill Announce Virtual Appliance Versions for Barracuda Networks’ Security

Now shipping from VAD Wick Hill are virtual appliance versions of the Barracuda Spam and Virus Firewall and the Barracuda SSL VPN. These two solutions include the same technology and simple web-based user interfaces found on the equivalent hardware appliances.

The distributor says they are designed for easy deployment on VMware infrastructure and can be combined with other Barracuda Networks hardware appliances. As organisations grow, these appliances can be easily scaled for performance and capacity and also lend themselves to quicker backup and disaster recovery. More virtual appliance versions of Barracuda Networks’ solutions will be available through Wick Hill in the near future.

Ian Kilpatrick chairman of VAD Wick Hill Group, specialists in secure IP infrastructure solutions, commented: “There is now a significant move to virtualisation in many organisations. These new virtual appliances from Barracuda Networks enable organisations to integrate their spam management and SSL access into their overall virtualisation strategy. For the channel, this move provides significant integration and cost management opportunities, as well as helping organisations to reduce their carbon footprint.”

The Barracuda Spam & Virus Firewall provides a powerful, easy-to-use and affordable solution for complete protection of an organisation’s email infrastructure. It eliminates spam and virus intrusions while safeguarding an organisation’s reputation through content inspection based on policy for both inbound and outbound email. Outbound filtering also prevents confidential or sensitive information from being purposely or inadvertently leaked outside the organisation.

The Barracuda SSL VPN is an integrated hardware and software solution that enables secure, clientless, remote access to internal network resources. Accessible from any Web browser on any operating system, the Barracuda SSL VPN provides all the features needed to enable network resource access through a powerful policy-based permissions framework. The Barracuda SSL VPN also integrates with third-party authentication mechanisms to provide granular access control with single sign-on capabilities.
