Williams follows Mills in new venture

Alastair Mills, who announced the formation of a new company last week, has now announced the appointment of Campbell Williams in the newly created role of Group Sales and Marketing Director.

Williams is a veteran of 15 years in the industry, having held a variety of senior sales, marketing and business development roles at Mitel, AT Communications and Charterhouse Voice & Data.

Williams will be responsible for the creation of a new brand identity for the as-yet unnamed Group that positions it firmly as a fast growing and high performing player in the emerging managed data services space.

The Group is seeking to exploit its strategic assets – 15,000 square feet of datacentre, an MPLS core network, a voice switching platform and SIP trunking capability – with Williams driving cross-selling initiatives into the Group’s mid-market customer base to fuel organic growth.

At the time of announcement, Mills made the following statement: “I’m delighted to be able to welcome Campbell to the Group. We’re building a new company with a clean-sheet-of-paper approach, so we felt it was essential to strengthen the senior management team with somebody to lead our sales and marketing initiatives. I could think of no better person in the industry than Campbell, so I’m excited that he’s on board.”

Responding to Mills, Williams stated: “I’ve known Alastair for many years and I’ve always hoped we might work together someday. It’s been apparent to me for some time that the next phase of industry evolution will be based on cloud connectivity, application hosting and virtualisation. Consequently, it didn’t take me long to decide to jump onboard once Alastair told me that the new Group was acquiring a datacentre, next generation network and an IP voice services business. I believe that it’s exactly the right approach and that we’ve got an end-to-end, core-to-edge capability that few can rival, which makes my job of crafting our message and selling it to customers so much easier.”
