Windsor Telecom Ladies Race for Life and Raise over £2,000

Four energetic employees from Windsor Telecom, the UK’s leading provider of memorable phone numbers and inbound call solutions, have helped to raise over £2,000 for cancer research at recent charity events.

Denise Gibbs, Sam Marshall-Goodridge Heideman and Sonja Fanner from Windsor Telecom in Poole, joined over six thousand participants at Bournemouth Pier on Sunday 22nd June, to take part in Race for Life, Cancer Research UK’s largest women-only fundraising event.

Hayley Gelder, who works in credit control at the company’s Farnham office, took part in the Guildford leg of the race on June 8th.

Both courses were 5k and all four team members completed the race in under an hour.

Sonja, head of customer services, said, “We had a great time! The weather in Bournemouth was gorgeous, the atmosphere was brilliant and everyone was smiling because they were taking part in such a worth-while event.”

Hayley finished the course around Stoke Park in Guildford in 46 minutes. She said, “We were racing for our family members, friends and colleagues that have all thankfully been cured of cancer. It was a great day and I am proud to have been involved.”

Area Event Manager for Race for Life, Hannah White, said, “"It was brilliant to see the team from Windsor Telecom take part in Race for Life this year. We get lots of companies taking part in their local Race for Life events for Cancer Research UK and it’s always fascinating to see them come through the start and finish line together. A huge congratulations to the Windsor Telecom team for taking part in two Race for Life's this year and raising over £2,000!"

Both teams have raised nearly £2,300 for Cancer Research UK.
