Xchanging awarded 4 year telephony contract by Gatwick Airport

Xchanging has proudly been appointed by existing customer, Gatwick Airport, the world’s busiest single runway airport, to partner in delivering its Telephony services.

The 4 year contract was won following a rigorous open tender process. The contract comprises management of the campus-wide estate for both the airport and its customers as well as the 02 and BT estates. Xchanging will work collaboratively with the airport over the forthcoming years to drive innovative enhancements to assist the airport in its goals.

Michael Ibbitson, Chief Information Officer for Gatwick Airport said, “We’re impressed with the flexibility of Xchanging to meet our needs, assist with the management of our complex environment and with their drive and enthusiasm to work with us in providing a great service for our customers.”

Andrew Binns, Executive Director at Xchanging added, “We are delighted to extend our relationship with Gatwick Airport. The Xchanging model is to build on initial successes and introduce our broad range of technology skills and services. We look forward to continuing our relationship.”

Transition is underway and contract start date is 1st October 2012. The contract follows Xchanging’s initial success in 2010 winning the contract to deliver Gatwick's Network Managed Services and a second contract in 2011 to provide the airport's End User Computing Services.
