Xelion Celebrates First Year in UK Market

Telephony
Xelion is celebrating the achievements of its first year in the UK market which saw some important success milestones. The company, which has its headquarters in the Netherlands, entered the UK market at the start of 2017 responding to demand for hosted telephony service with an open platform architecture that channel partners can configure to their unique customer needs.

Dave Reynolds joined the company as UK Managing Director. With ten years' experience of the telecoms market Dave leads with a ‘channel-only' distribution policy, so there are never any conflicts of interest.

Traditionally Xelion partners hosted the core platform on either their own infrastructure or the infrastructure of a third party provider. But early in 2017 the company introduced Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform as an alternative option for partners that want a managed hosted solution. The majority of Xelion's UK partners are now operating over the AWS infrastructure which achieved 100 percent uptime in 2017. This provides even greater flexibility for deployment of the Xelion service for partners, allowing partners to launch a platform within a very short period of time on any of the fifteen global AWS pops to suit the local customer requirements.

The past year saw Xelion's UK partners win major customers in all sectors including a major housing association, an international airline and a Premier League football team, demonstrating that Xelion is an excellent fit for the UK market. Customers benefit from Xelion's open architecture and APIs allowing third-party apps such as MS Exchange and Office 365 to be integrated seamlessly with the service. This allows comms providers to design bespoke solutions that customers require, using best of breed apps that really meet their needs, instead of a ‘one-size-fits-all' service.

Commenting on the initial success of Xelion in the UK, Dave Reynolds stated, "We are off to a flying start and this is just the beginning of the success we can achieve for our partners in the UK. The platform delivers not just voice but a true Organised Communications service, bringing together voice, instant messaging, sms, video, wallboards and much more. And it's all available on a standardised user interface app for desktop, mobile and tablet so users can use the solution anywhere, anytime. I'd like to hear from any potential partner that is securing over 30 hosted seats per month and wants to work with a service provider that supports them, not competing against them."
