XLN Telecom CEO Wins & Young National Entrepreneur of the Year

Christian Nellemann, Group CEO of XLN Telecom Ltd – the UK provider of telecoms services for small business – has won Ernst & Young’s 2010 National Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Business Products and Services.

The accolade comes less than a month after XLN secured the backing of one of the UK’s leading mid-cap private equity groups, ECI Partners, which will be supporting the Company’s ongoing expansion providing it with the funds to more than double the size of the business through acquisitions.

Founded in 2002, XLN specialises in providing small businesses in the UK with high quality, low-cost fixed-line, mobile and internet services. In the last three years, XLN’s revenues have grown substantially from £27 million in 2006/2007 to over £54 million in 2009/2010. Today, the Company services over 120,000 small businesses through its XLN and One Bill brands.

This win tops of a string of recent successes. In June, Christian Nellemann won the London & South regional finals of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, enabling him to be among the 500 people representing more than 100 nominees at last night’s National Awards. And in July, XLN’s management team were regional winners of the best Private Equity Backed Team of the Year (mid-market) in the British Venture Capital Association Portfolio Company Management Awards (BVCA PCM Awards).
