Avaya has confirmed that Yealink’s core SIP T2x handset range and VP530 videophone are compliant with IP Office 8.1, the latest release of its flagship real-time collaboration solution for SMEs.

The announcement confirms the interoperability of the popular SIP-T20PN, SIP-T22PN, SIP-T26N and SIP-T28PN, alongside the VP530N, a business class handset equipped with video launched in the UK last summer.

Commenting on the achievement, Steve Watts, Yealink UK’s head of technology, said: “This is an important development as IP Office is a uniquely flexible platform, one now embraced by over 300,000 small and medium sized enterprises. Confirmation of interoperability enables resellers to complement a powerful UC solution, one designed to save costs and offer an excellent return on investment, with our premium yet affordable handsets. For hard-pressed SMEs looking to maximise efficiencies and service whilst minimising capital spend, that’s a really compelling combination. It’s also a unique proposition as we believe the VP530N is the only low cost videophone certified for use with IP Office.”

Congratulating Yealink on securing compliance, Jonathan Alperin, director at Avaya’s DevConnect Program explained the importance of interoperability in the market: “Avaya is committed to providing our customers with third party solutions that are fully compatible with the Avaya IP Office #8.1. By continual pursuit of product integration, we offer customers greater options and solutions to meet their communication and collaboration needs.

“With this successful Compliance Testing, Avaya provides customers increased confidence in product interoperability and successful deployments of our respective products within their enterprise environment.”

It is the latest in a line of compliance certifications secured by Yealink to ensure its products have wide application. In September the company announced the SIP-T2x range had achieved interoperability with Alcatel Lucent’s OmniPCX Enterprise Communication Server whilst in summer the VP530N was confirmed compliant with Broadsoft’s popular BroadWorks platform having already been certified for use with other key IP-PBX solutions offered by Avaya, Asterisk and 3CX.

News of IP Office certification crowns another highly successful year for Yealink UK which is set to report significant sales growth in its domestic and European market. The company’s SIP-T38GN colour screen gigabit handset also claimed the Internet Telephony Services Providers’ Association’s (ITSPA) Best VoIP Customer Premises Equipment award {and was shortlisted for Most Innovative Channel Product (Hardware) at the Comms Business Awards.
