Yealink Confirms July Launch for Gigabit Colour IP Phone

Yealink has confirmed its dual-port Gigabit colour IP handset will be officially launched in july.

Having successfully previewed the SIP-T38G at Cebit, and Convergence Summit North, Yealink is confident the new model will provide resellers with opportunities to tap into a fast emerging market as its Gigabit capacity offers speeds 100 times faster than regular Ethernet and ten times that of Fast Ethernet. Crucially it enables users to capitalise on the capabilities of Gigabit networks and expand bandwidth without the need to install a costly GigE switch.

The specialist VoIP manufacturer also believes that significant price differentials between the T38G and competitor models will also open doors for resellers. The new handset carries a recommended retail price of £172.50 (ex VAT) which is between 20- 40% lower than that of market alternatives.

“The T38G is a particularly enticing proposition because it pushes so many buttons,” commented Yealink UK’s Managing Director Andrew Roberts. “With it organisations can realise the true potential of Gigabit networks, simply and affordably, and so better embrace collaborative technologies which require fast connections and increased bandwidth to perform optimally. Running ‘phones with 10/100M switches on these networks is like riding a bike whilst grasping its brakes. “

He added: “The colour screen also provides executive desk eye-candy, potentially making the handset the maker of bigger deals. It’s a handsome model boasting real cachet.”
