Yealink hails Convergence Success as resellers welcome new models

SIP telephony specialist Yealink UK has hailed the Convergence North Summit as its “best ever” after winning plaudits from resellers and service providers for its high end models.

The company reports stand visitors were particularly impressed by live demos of its forthcoming VP-530 business class SIP handset equipped with video and the ITSPA award-winning SIP-T38G gigabit colour screen model.

“It was a really good event for Yealink which generated not just great interest but plenty of really strong leads,” commented Yealink UK’s Head of Technology, Steve Watts. “It’s heartening to see that, whilst naturally keen to see what’s new out there, resellers and service providers clearly saw that Convergence was about much more than window shopping. They want to do business and clearly saw great opportunities to leverage sales by targeting executives through the T32G and T38G gigabet handsets, both of which were new to market since last year’s show.

“Live demonstrations of the VP-530 were particularly well received with extremely favourable comments about the HD voice capabilities, professional quality of video conversations and the extremely keen price point. The consensus seemed to be that the price and feature combination would finally enable wider market penetration of video enabled telephony.”

He added that the VP-530 will shortly be launched into the UK market and, with a sub-£270 price tag, retail at roughly a third of the cost of a comparable competitor. Full details of the launch are expected to be released within the next two weeks.
