Yealink Video Phone Set to Give Resellers the Bigger Picture

Specialist VoIP manufacturer Yealink says it is set to change the face of the SIP business video phone market with the launch of a new unit costing less than half the price of a comparable leading brand model.

The VP2009 – with a suggested retail price of£283.50 ex VAT - is to be unveiled to the trade at the Convergence Summit North in March. As well as being the lowest priced touch-screen business videophone on the UK market it is impressively specified and ideal for business, hospitality, healthcare, education, security, retail and conferencing markets. A generous seven inch, digital LCD colour display hosts a highly user-friendly interface whilst a powerful TI DaVinci chipset enables a true multi-media terminal which supports both a local media player and remote streaming for IPTV and video on demand. Support of H.264 video codecs also ensures superior quality transmissions even when bandwidth is restricted. Furthermore implementation is straight forward thanks to dedicated auto-provisioning functionality.

Other functions include a built-in rotatable CMOS camera, digital photo-frame, adaptive bandwidth, full duplex audio, extensive voice features and the ability to screen video advertisements when talking and on or offline.

“The video phone market has thus far been restricted by the relatively high price of available models. That is about to change,” comments Yealink’s Head of Distribution Channels, Charles Williams. “We believe the VP2009’s functionality, quality and price will really break open the market, with tremendous appeal not just to the business community but the consumer sector too. Here at last is a genuinely affordable solution which will allow users from a much wider market spectrum to maximise the full benefit of video communications.”

The VP900 is the latest addition to Yealink’s range of SIP handsets all of which offer, as standard, HD Voice, PoE and PSU, headset port, dual Ethernet ports with XML support, programmable keys, voicemail, remote and local phonebook and intercom.
