Your Comms Swaps Phones For Trees In Environmental Campaign

Manchester based telecoms provider Your Communications is dedicating a sapling to a local farm every time a business customer makes the switch to e-billing or returns a handset for recycling. The saplings are at Dale Hey Farm in Lancashire’s Forest of Bowland.

Paul Lawton, director of marketing and mobile at Your Communications, explains: “We know that many of our customers want to reduce their environmental impact, but don't have the time or resource to do much. So we’re working with The CarbonNeutral Company to become the first carbon neutral telecoms network, helping our customers to help the environment too.”

The company is urging new and existing mobile customers to recycle old handsets and switch from paper billing to itemised e-billing.

Lawton added: “The switch to e-billing creates a win-win situation, because it’s cheaper and easier for customers as well helping the environment. “

Your Communications is also distributing recycling bags to 25,000 customers and employees who’ve recently bought new handsets, in order for them to return their old mobile phones for recycling.
