ZTE expands market presence with QiComm partnership

Telecommunications operator and systems integrator QiComm has announced that it has been appointed by ZTE Corporation as the global telecommunications equipment provider’s preferred service integration partner in the UK market.

The appointment is designed to provide ZTE with the means to rapidly address local market opportunities by providing a complete and integrated solution for UK, and international operators.

QiComm will effectively operate as ZTE’s internal services team, providing systems integration expertise coupled with local knowledge, project management, logistics and ancillaries. The partnership will provide fixed line and wireless operators with access, transmission and switching solutions.

In addition ZTE will be utilising QiComm’s recently completed Tutis Point data centre. Already equipped with ZTE’s carrier class switching systems, Tutis Point is a class leading data centre housed in London’s Docklands and interconnected with major operators and the three main Telehouses.

ZTE UK managing director, Jim Jing Hui, said: “QiComm is the ideal systems integration partner for ZTE in the UK. Since 1990 the company has been providing systems integration expertise in the UK market and has established relationships with the major operators. That local knowledge and expertise, coupled with a track record for timely delivery and support, perfectly complements ZTE’s portfolio of network infrastructure equipment. The combination provides our target customers with access to cost effective solutions to meet the growing demand for telecoms services.”

Iain Brotherston, head of systems integration for QiComm, added: “We see growing demand in the industry for access to alternative equipment providers that can deliver effective solutions at a competitive price point but understandably, local expertise and support is paramount. The ZTE and QiComm partnership addresses both the demand and the concern, bringing new equipment solutions to the market with the certainty of effective planning, design, deployment, integration, monitoring and management.”
