Zycko’s Global Expansion

Building on its UK model distributor Zycko has expanded its global offices to Italy and Benelux, with further plans for Sweden, Spain and a second German office in Munich. Zycko already serves over 60 countries each month from the UK, including Central Europe and this expansion further strengthens Zycko’s EMEA position.

David Galton-Fenzi, Zycko’s group sales director, said: “It is essential that Zycko opens local support centres in these regions. Presently I see no other distributor that can deliver the depth of value-add services to support VARs, integrators and service providers comprehensively across the EMEA region. Our solution portfolio and channel engagement programme have proven to be a great hit with all our partners, hence the encouragement and support we receive from our strategic partners.”

Each new office will be taking to market the core of Zycko’s key solutions including Hitachi, a leading storage vendor, Riverbed, the global leaders in point to point network acceleration and Isilon, the worldwide leader in clustered storage systems and software for digital content and unstructured data.

Harvey Smith, Hitachi Data Systems UK & Ireland Partner Manager, said: “I am pleased to see Zycko’s continued expansion in these territories. We have worked with them on previous projects and they have always provided a fantastic service.

Mr Smith added: “A local presence in these areas will not only enable Zycko to have a stronger relationship with existing clients, but will encourage new business, as they are offering not only great service, but staff at hand who can speak their local language.”

Marcus Chambers, vice president of EMEA at Riverbed, said: "We have a strong and dedicated commitment to Zycko and their partners. The expansion of Zycko's operations into Italy and the growth of their operations to the Benelux region allows us to work more closely with new customers and to establish stronger relationships with resellers in these markets."

Philip Crocker, Director of EMEA Marketing, Isilon Systems, said: “Zycko’s expansion is a great move for both Zycko and Isilon. It will be extremely beneficial for business, as local presence means Zycko can address its local customers, in a local language, with accessible staff.

Piera Loche has been appointed managing director of Zycko Italy, based in Milan, while Mabel de Vries is the managing director of Zycko Benelux, based in Amsterdam.
