Munday has held various roles at Avaya including supporting the EMEA sales organisation as well as playing an integral role in the Tenovis acquisition, driving the integration of sales and operations. Prior to this, he worked as senior operations director at scientific manufacturer, Smiths Industries, where he was responsible for all operational and financial areas for one franchise within the Smiths Group, with a turnover of over £50 million.

Avaya has increased substantially IP telephony shipments in EMEA, according to a recent report by industry analyst firm Synergy Research Group. In the three months from July to September 2005, Avaya increased the number of IP telephony ports shipped and corresponding revenues by a quarter. This strong growth has moved it into the number two position, with nearly 22 percent market share measured by ports and more than 24 percent measured by revenues.
Among those reporting to Tristan Munday will be John Howard, appointed as Enterprise channel director, EMEA.
