Channel Live 2024 has opened at Birmingham’s NEC, with the UK’s channel community coming together to discuss the challenges facing the industry.

The two-day event brings together vendors, distributors, MSPs, and other channel stakeholders for an exhibition, conference, roundtables and networking sessions.

The conference programme will be opened by Dr Lucy Green, CEO of Larato, who will set the scene and discuss the outlook for the Channel.

Keynotes from Gavin Jones, director of wholesale channel, BT Business (pictured above, second from left), Martin Ward, West Midlands tech commissioner, and John Livermore, all-IP industry engagement manager, Openreach, will follow.

At this year’s event, the Channel Live app will serve as a meetings tool, with visitors able to make connections and organise their day. There is also more space for visitors to continue conversations away from the crowds due to the addition of dedicated networking and meeting areas.

Phil Glover, exhibition manager, Channel Live, said, “We are delighted to open our doors this morning! We are looking forward to a busy two days as the Channel reconnects and regroups for the future.”

This year’s edition will also feature Tech Tours, which will take visitors directly to exhibitors that are tailored to specific interests. Tech Tour themes will include: connectivity and networks, hardware, channel management software, unified comms and managed services, and channel support services.

There will also be a party later today so visitors and exhibitors can catch up in a more informal setting. Glover explained, “Channel Live After Hours is our new party for 2024 and takes place within the exhibition hall at the end of day one, sponsored by the Federation of Communications Services. Be sure to join us for informal networking, refreshments, and entertainment!”
