Charterhouse and friends prepare for 38km charity hike

Charterhouse Group and partners from across the Channel are preparing for a 37.9km charity hike to raise funds for Alder Hey Children’s Charity and the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund.

The ‘Into the Clouds’ walk will see 85 walkers take in nearly 9,000ft of vertical ascent around the Lake District next month.

The group will set off on Friday 17th May. Participants come from a number of UC organisations including Charterhouse Group, Redcentric, Gamma, NICE, Netcall, Oak, PXC, Gradwell, DTEN, EvolveIP, Voiceflex, BlueCube and Code.

James Banks, group technical director, Charterhouse Group, organised the fundraising activity following on from a successful Yorkshire three peaks trip last year (pictured), where over £8,000 was raised for Alder Hey Children’s Charity.

Banks said, “This is the second year of what will hopefully become a successful annual event. The team will take on the route of an Ultra Challenge in the Lake District summiting 9 Wainwrights and covering 37.9km of distance and nearing 9,000ft in elevation gain. It’s firmly not for the faint-hearted!

“There is still time to join the team if you fancy an adventure and of course any donations would be gratefully appreciated as the team works toward a goal of raising £20,000 to support both charities!”
