CityFibre announces £17m Loughborough rollout

CityFibre has named Loughborough as the next UK town in line for a multi-million-pound investment in full fibre.

The network provider will build a new town-wide network that will bring fast and reliable full fibre-enabled internet services within reach of almost every home and business in Loughborough.

Construction work on the full fibre network in Loughborough will begin in the Storer area. James Cushing, area manager at CityFibre, will be responsible for overseeing the project, while also acting as the main point of contact for all stakeholders.

Cushing said, “We’re excited to get to work on Loughborough’s town-wide full fibre network, which will transform the town’s digital capabilities for decades to come. From smooth streaming when watching movies at home to buffer-free calls at the office, we cannot wait for residents and businesses to reap the many benefits of full fibre technology.”

In Loughborough, services will be available from a range of broadband providers. Across the UK, CityFibre is working with Vodafone to supply full fibre infrastructure for customers on selected Vodafone Pro Broadband plans, while TalkTalk, IDNet, Giganet, Zen and other providers are expected to join the network soon.
