CityFibre lays more than 250km of full fibre in Rugby

CityFibre has now laid more than 250km of full fibre internet beneath the streets of Rugby.

Rugby is one of a growing number of locations in the UK to benefit from CityFibre’s nationwide full fibre rollout.

Large sections of the town have also been completed, including the Admirals, Cawston ward, Newbold, Hillmorton and Rugby Central, with Caldecott Park, Brownsover and Newton to follow shortly.

Bashir Ahmed, CityFibre's partnership manager for Rugby, said, "This latest milestone is such a great achievement, 250km of full fibre laid beneath the town’s streets represents excellent progress in our rollout. With our network now live across many parts of Rugby, there’s an opportunity for more people to enjoy the benefits of full fibre connectivity. This state-of-the-art network will future-proof the town's digital foundations for decades to come."

Full fibre networks use 100 per cent fibre optics to carry data at light speed from the home to the point of connection. This gives users speeds of up to 2.5 Gbps for upload and download, near limitless bandwidth and reliable connectivity.

In Rugby, customers can already connect to the new network and benefit from full fibre-enabled broadband from a choice of providers, including UK launch partner, Vodafone on selected Vodafone Pro Broadband plans, TalkTalk, IDNet, Giganet and Zen. Other providers are expected to join the network soon.
