Metronet Connects Newcastle

Metronet (UK) has further expanded its hybrid network, this time over to the North East of the UK, and is now connecting Newcastle.

Newcastle is a city where connectivity is unaffordable for many businesses, and even if these businesses could afford it then it was not always easy to deliver. In partnership with Go Digital Newcastle, Metronet (UK) are working to provide a different approach to broadband and have already taken orders from over 30 customers including Eldon Garden.

Using a combination of wired and wireless technology Metronet (UK) connects customers at speeds of 1Mbps to 10Gbps. By using a combination of fibre and high capacity wireless technology, lead times are significantly reduced and businesses that have traditionally struggled with poor copper services such as ADSL, SDSL and EFM or costly leased line installation charges finally have an alternative.

Lee Lawrence, Operations Director at Metronet (UK) said, “This new rollout means that we now have even stronger coverage across the UK and businesses in Newcastle can now take advantage of our services. At Metronet (UK) we do things differently meaning we can deliver faster connectivity which is flexible and great value for money, in turn meeting the needs of the city’s businesses. We have already connected several businesses in Newcastle and look forward to getting the rest of the city on Metronet (UK)’s network.”
