MSP client workloads to see huge cloud shift in next three years

MSPs Cloud
According to findings by Kaseya, MSPs have reported that as many as 75 per cent of client workloads will be cloud-based over the next three years.

These figures represent a 25 per cent increase from 2021 according to Kaseya’s research.

Following acceleration of cloud migration during Covid-19, services are continuing to evolve post-pandemic, Kaseya said. Nearly all MSPs (95 per cent) identified market opportunities in cloud integration, citing key benefits such as better storage design and implementation, improved productivity and collaboration across teams for clients.

Nine in ten (90 per cent) of MSPs surveyed now offer cloud-based infrastructure design and management, indicating that small and medium-sized businesses are showing a keenness to move away from on-premise solutions.

To make the most of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solutions, the businesses that have leveraged this software have moved all types of workloads to the cloud (77 per cent email servers, 77 per cent database servers).

However, despite the increasing popularity of cloud-based solutions among a number of businesses, some organisations remain hesitant about its adoption due to compliance, security or budgetary concerns.

Chris McKie, VP of product marketing for Security and Networking Solutions at Kaseya said: “These research figures are demonstrative of the rapid acceleration and acceptance among businesses of cloud technology.

“More are witnessing the benefits of cloud applications, including easier collaboration between employees and improved productivity. However, MSPs must not only communicate the advantages of the cloud, but help to ease the continued fears among businesses around compliance and security.”

Kaseya is a provider of unified IT and security management software for MSPs and mid-market enterprises. It offers a range of solutions including Datto, IT Glue and RapidFire Tools among others.
