Tech Data announces new Hitachi Everflex Hybrid cloud storage offering

Cloud Data
Tech Data is offering partners a new cloud storage offering with Hitachi Vantara’s EverFlex solution.

EverFlex launched earlier this year and is a portfolio of hybrid cloud offerings, with consumption-based pricing, that automates and simplifies management of IT resources.

Tech Data said the EverFlex storage as a service (StaaS) options are especially appealing to organisations requiring certainty of data integrity. The EverFlex solutions offer customers on-premises storage, the ability to flex capacity up and down on a monthly basis, and to only pay for what they use.

Tech Data has been working with Hitachi Vantara and its partners to take EverFlex to market and has made a first sale for a six-figure amount to an MSP that is using the platform as the foundation for its UK-based data centre.

A separate, seven-figure deal should be completed soon and will provide flexible StaaS for an online leisure services provider, which sees significant peaks and troughs in usage.

David Thibeault, senior manager, business development for Hitachi Vantara at Tech Data, UK, said, “Hitachi is still known as the provider of 100 percent guaranteed data availability. That reputation opens doors and we’ve had a tremendously positive response – both from partners and end-user organisations – to EverFlex.

“It is incredibly flexible, provides the assured resilience for which Hitachi is renowned, and extremely competitive. We are confident that these initial successes are just the start and that we’ll see strong growth as the word spreads about the agility, scalability, and zero risk that EverFlex delivers.

“We see excellent potential for partners – especially with the StaaS solutions. The margins are attractive and what’s also great, from a partner and customer perspective, is that EverFlex products are available to ship right away.”
