Wifinity snaps up Vital WiFi

Wifinity has announced it has acquired Vital WiFi.

Managed internet service provider Wifinity said this acquisition will expand its services into the offshore sector, including traditional and renewable energy platforms and commercial shipping.

Hampshire-based Vital WiFi installed its first connectivity system in 2012 and provides Wi-Fi, connectivity and consultancy services to customers in sectors including offshore, hotels, holiday parks and retail.

Costas Demetriou, CEO, Wifinity, explained, “Joe Burnell and the team at Vital WiFi have built a great business that delivers secure, reliable and quality Wi-Fi services in what are often challenging working environments. We’re thrilled that they’ve joined us.

“The acquisition provides a unique opportunity to expand into new, complimentary markets, while gaining a raft of new product features and industry expertise to help drive our continued growth in the UK and now offshore.”

Joe Burnell, founder, Vital WiFi, added, “Joining the Wifinity Group is an incredibly important milestone for us as a team and reflects the quality proposition we’ve developed.

“The further expertise and resources now available to us as part of the Group will undoubtedly enable us to further strengthen our offering for our customers and reach a broader audience.”

Wifinity offers connectivity services in rural and remote locations with solutions including managed internet and guest broadband. The company completed a management buyout in September 2021 with the backing of LDC and existing investor Literacy Capital.
