Comms Business Golf Society has been running events for the last 16 years and has featured around 70 events. 

They were set up originally because of the Channel’s love for golf and as an opportunity for suppliers, Resellers, MSPs, distributors and all from the market, to play alongside each other and to network at the same time.

Over the years hundreds of golfers from the Channel have taken part and judging from recent events attendance and interest in them are growing.

Today and for next year, we will be continuing with 3 “open” regional events and a “final” (exclusive to sponsors and the golf championship leaders) at a prestigious golfing venue.

The events are “self-funding” so we rely on sponsors to assist with the costs of organising the golf, the breakfast, post-match dinner, the trophies, prizes associated with the days. We limit the maximum number of sponsors per year to six in total and depending on how many we secure, we look at the possibility of enhancing the days and events for the following years.

This year for example, based on this year’s sponsors we have added the services of YourGolfDay, with the prize of a golf trip to Spain, other small competitions with small prizes on the days themselves.

We provide a lot of extra brand exposure prior to, on signage in several locations at each event and post the events in return for our sponsors along with a free place at each one during the duration of the calendar year.

Agenda for 2025

There will be 3 “open” golf days for ICT Channel professionals planned for 2025, featuring one in the North, one in the South and one in the Midlands. We generally run these from April through to September each year and we normally run events for 3 years at the same venue/course on a rolling basis.

This means that the schedule will probably run as follows for 2025:

• 1st Day, April/May – Midlands – NEW VENUE TBA
• 2nd Day, May/June – Thorndon Park, Essex – date tbc
• 3rd Day, September/October – Mottram Hall – date tbc

The 3 leading scorers from across all 3 open events are then invited with the year’s sponsors to play on an exclusive day at a prestigious golfing venue, normally as follows:

• 4th Day, Exclusive Final, October/November – St Georges Hill – date tbc

Next year there will be 2 options. Both carry the same levels of exposure but the second package allows for those who might want to book their own 4 balls, or multiple players at all the events.

Sponsor’s Package 1 - £2,500 + VAT

• 1 place at each event, including 18 holes of golf, breakfast bap and 2/3 course meal post round
• Branding on all e-mails/messaging and promotions about the 2025 events, online, via e-mail and social media
• Branding on signage at each event, where possible before play, on course (1st tee, longest drive and nearest the pin), during and after the dinner
• The opportunity to present prizes to trophy winners with photo opportunities
• Branding and mentions in the write up after each event in Comms Business magazine
• The opportunity to bring sponsor branded items for distribution at each event
• For this package we will invoice for the sponsorship after each event in 4 payments of £625 + VAT per event.

Sponsor’s Package 2 - £4,000 + VAT

• 4 places at each event, including 18 holes of golf, breakfast bap and 2/3 course meal post round
• Branding on all e-mails/messaging and promotions about the 2025 events, online, via e-mail and social media
• Branding on signage at each event, where possible before play, on course (1st tee, longest drive and nearest the pin), during and after the dinner•    The opportunity to present prizes to trophy winners with photo opportunities
• Branding and mentions in the write up after each event in Comms Business magazine
• The opportunity to bring sponsor branded items for distribution at each event
• For this package we will invoice for the sponsorship after each event in 4 payments of £1,000 + VAT per event.
