MLL Telecom appoints new cybersecurity leader

MLL Telecom has announced the appointment of Ray Burke as senior cybersecurity solutions architect to lead the company’s new cybersecurity business unit.

Burke will take responsibility for developing MLL’s managed detection and response (MDR) cybersecurity solutions practice, which forms an integral part of the company’s new value-added next generation services strategy.

He joins MLL Telecom from Sophos, a security software vendor, where he was global cybersecurity solutions sales engineer with responsibility for Europe, Africa, Canada and USA. Burke has spent more than a decade in the IT and cybersecurity solutions market, including founding and building his own MSP business.

Ray Burke (pictured) said, “With security breaches on the rise in the public sector and an ever-growing attack surface, having access to effective cybersecurity as a service is now a major challenge for many of our clients.

“Our new managed detection and response services will build on and integrate with MLL’s existing strengths in security posture to offer a 24/7 365 outsourced security operations centre and best-in-class endpoint protection solutions.

“This will include flexible monthly subscription-based offerings, providing robust end-to-end protection and countermeasures for safeguarding our clients in the unfortunate event of an attack, and aiding the procurement of cyber insurance policies.”

Andrew Shilton, head of pre-sales, MLL Telecom, added, “We are very pleased to have someone of Ray’s calibre and proven expertise on board to drive our new managed security practice.

“He will be instrumental in developing our overall cybersecurity service capability, backed by a highly certified team of security professionals. MLL will offer clients the peace of mind and ease of access they need when it comes to robust, responsive, and affordable cybersecurity protection.”
