Exeter-based communications and IT provider swcomms has announced it will rebrand to Focus Group in October 2023.

Focus Group acquired swcomms in February 2021 and has continued to expand with additional acquisitions across the UK. The company now has a combined workforce of over 900 employees across 13 locations.

Over the past year, swcomms has made changes to its website and advertising, as well as upgrading and rebranding its offices in Exeter (pictured above).

Brian Lodge, managing director, swcomms, said, “Since our acquisition we have continued to trade as swcomms whilst integrating with Focus Group in the background to ensure a smooth and seamless transition into the wider group.

“Despite the fact that the swcomms name will no longer be in use, as Focus Group’s regional office in the South West we will continue to provide the same dedicated service using our existing management team and employees.

“By officially merging with our parent company and taking on the Focus Group name we can expand the products and services that we are able to offer while still providing local and personal support to our customers.”

Barney Taylor, CEO, Focus Group, added, “I am delighted to see the swcomms brand officially transition into the Focus Group family and excited to see what the future holds for our growth in the South West.

“We continue to be dedicated to putting our people first and connecting communities through the work we do, and I am confident that we can continue to build on our success as a group so far.”

Focus Group will continue swcomms’ relationship with the Exeter Chiefs rugby club. Focus Group will be the main sponsor for the women’s team this season, as well as a shirt sponsor for the men’s team.

When the swcomms brand is retired in October, Brian Lodge will transition to the role of regional director at Focus Group.
