VMO2 announces leadership changes

Virgin Media O2 has confirmed that Rob Orr has been appointed chief operations officer, with Christian Hindennach filling the chief commercial officer role in an interim basis.

Orr has been in the business for a number of years in different roles, most recently as executive director for strategic projects where he developed the strategy and executed the plan for the company’s wholesale fixed business.

In his new role as chief operations officer, Orr (pictured above) will take responsibility for areas including the company’s customer service, retail footprint and field teams.

Christian Hindennach is the company’s interim chief commercial officer, replacing Ulrik Bengtsson who, the company said, “very recently decided to leave to pursue other non-executive opportunities”.

Hindennach (pictured below) was formerly strategy and transformation director in Virgin Media O2’s consumer division and before that held the positions of CCO at Sky Deutschland and Unitymedia.

Rob Orr, chief operations officer, Virgin Media O2, said, “I’m delighted to step into the role of chief operations officer having worked at Virgin Media and now Virgin Media O2 for a number of years.

“My priority is to build on the fantastic DNA we have in this company and give our customers an incredible service – whether that’s in one of our stores, through our customer service agents or from one of our engineers visiting a home.”

Christian Hindennach, acting chief commercial officer, Virgin Media O2, added, “Having joined Virgin Media O2 last year, and building on my previous experience at both Sky and Unitymedia in Germany, I’m excited to shape and evolve the services that we offer consumers – whether they are thinking of joining us, have just joined us or have been with us for years.

“Virgin Media O2 has a strong history of being the biggest challenger in the market and I want to use this mentality to drive our commercial momentum and performance while also giving customers the services and experiences they want and expect from us.”
