Zen to Offer Broadband Voice

Zen Internet today announced the launch of Zen Broadband Voice, a product which has been designed to allow customers to make low cost phone calls using their broadband connection. The package includes 1000 minutes of calls to UK landlines for £4.99 (inc VAT) per month, whilst calls to other Zen Broadband Voice users and calls to Zen Internet are completely free of charge.

To use the service, customers must have a Zen Broadband account and are advised to use a softphone or Zen’s recommended hardware – the Speedtouch 780WL. As an introductory offer, this wireless router with integrated analogue telephone adaptor is available at a discounted rate.

Stephen Warburton Strategic Partnership Manager commented; “The Voice service is an excellent add-on to our broadband packages. We have had many queries on whether we would be introducing a residential/SoHo phone service, so we are delighted to be able to introduce Zen Broadband Voice. We are always looking for ways to improve our product range, and customer feedback is vital to allow us to do this.

As with our broadband range, there is a minimum contract length of one month, so customers can sign up with zero risk and no obligation. Given that the call charges are so low, we are very hopeful that customers will use the service and save money on their phone bill.”

Customers will be able to view an itemised bill at any point during the month via the customer portal so that they can constantly monitor any charges.
