SAMSUNG E570

Networks & Network Services
The E570 flip phone is one of Samsung’s little-promoted Le Fleur series aimed at the style-conscious female market. So it has hand-appeal, with tactile curves and something of the feel of the PEBL; it comes in four vibrant colours with a neat bit of flowery etching; and it echoes the successful E530, which can’t be a bad thing (more memory, slightly better spec, but otherwise very similar).
The specification is functional rather than exciting, but it’s right for the market – 1.3mp camera, smallish but ok display, Bluetooth and USB, a microSD memory card slot, and some sporty applications such as a calories calculator and pedometer. The build quality is very good, and parts of the casing that might possibly rub against each other are protected with rubber pads. The back cover is prone to picking up scratches, but that’s par for the course and they aren’t particularly noticeable.

Under the hood we really like the UI Samsung is using in these smaller phones. The menu can be displayed as a 3x3 grid or a list; it’s quick and easy to reach sub-menu items; and the handset will remember which function you addressed last time, highlighting it automatically next time you enter the same menu.
