Focus Group snaps up Midland Telecom

Focus Group has announced it has acquired Midland Telecom, a specialist in managed communication services, for an undisclosed sum.

Midland Telecom’s offices in central Birmingham will serve as a key location for Focus Group going forward, with the team able to deliver more solutions, operational capability and expertise across the area.

Midland Telecom has been in business since 1987, with the company offering cloud-based products from vendors including Microsoft, Mitel, 3CX and BT. Focus Group said the acquisition brings product alignment whilst also presenting an opportunity to diversify, grow and tap into new markets.

Ralph Gilbert, co-founder and director, Focus Group (pictured), said, “As a rapidly expanding tech business, it’s fundamental that we keep people at the heart of all we do, with an unwavering focus on building solid relationships with our customers.

“The team at Midland Telecom share this commitment and they have a natural passion for finding the perfect solutions for each customer. So, our new partnership ticks all the boxes…people, presence and portfolio. Welcome to the team Midland!”

Leon Fletcher, director at Midland Telecom, added, “Every one of us at Midland Telecom is excited to be playing our part in advancing the success of Focus Group across the Midlands and beyond.

“Joining forces with Focus Group presents an incredible opportunity for growth and innovation. Our shared values and complementary product portfolios position us perfectly for success as we work together to deliver exceptional service and support to our valued customers.”

Focus Group has made a number of acquisitions in recent years, including RPM Communications in January and Pinnacle in February. The company received new investment from Hg earlier this month.

Focus Group was advised by Roxburgh Milkins and Midland Telecom was advised by Hawkins Hatton.
