Mark Mitchell Appointed Vice-President, EMEA Channels, Avaya

Avaya has moved quickly to fill the position left open by the departure of Pat Hume at the end of 2007 and appointed Mark Mitchell to Vice President EMEA Channels, reporting directly to Carlos Sartorius, president, Avaya EMEA.

Mitchell joins Avaya from Ruckus Wireless, where he was most recently vice president of sales for EMEA. He has more than 21 years of sales and channel development experience, and has held senior leadership roles with Siemens, Marconi and Juniper Networks.

"Mark will lead a team already focused on driving significant growth through our indirect channels," said Carlos Sartorius, president, Avaya EMEA. "Mark's appointment indicates our commitment to extending our market reach through channels, and we are confident Mark will ensure that we are better positioned to leverage the exciting market opportunity throughout the EMEA region."

"I look forward to creating innovative programs to help our channel partners better understand the value of working with Avaya," Mitchell said. "Avaya is growing its market share exponentially through its closer relationships with its channel distributors, and I believe Avaya has an unparalleled opportunity to grow our channel relationships in a way that benefits both those channel partners and ultimately, our shared customers."
