Mobile vouchers to hit retail stores with Positive Thinking

Eagle Eye Solutions has partnered with Positive Thinking to provide a consolidated mobile vouchering solution for retailers. The relationship will enable retailers to issue unique mobile vouchers to customers via standard SMS text messages or directly to NFC-enabled mobile phones ready for redemption at the point of sale.

All vouchers will be uniquely identified and transacted via the Eagle Eye Mobile Interactive (Mi) Voucher Redemption System. This will provide retailers with straight through processing and real time campaign tracking, allowing them to create accurate return on investment calculations and negate malicious or fraudulent redemption of paper coupons and vouchers.

The proposition is extremely simple; a voucher is issued by Eagle Eye Solutions via a text message. The SMS contains a unique voucher code which can be redeemed by entering the eight digit number through a chip and pin device. However if the voucher is issued to a NFC mobile device, then the voucher is redeemed by simply touching the mobile to the contactless reader at the point of sale. The voucher code is automatically recorded by the EPoS and redeemed through the cash register against the sale.

This technology allows retailers to offer promotions and mobile gift vouchers seamlessly to all customers with a mobile, and at the same time harness real data on customer behaviour and trends. Previous coupon services operated by Eagle Eye Solutions have yielded an average 30% redemption rate, and are a proven mechanism for driving footfall and revenue for retailers.

Julian Reiter, managing director, Positive Thinking commented: “Working with Eagle Eye Solutions and its Mi Voucher mobile coupon platform, we can implement across retailers and online EPoS and payment solutions extremely cost effectively. Being able to send someone an offer they can directly redeem without having to print anything out, carry pieces of paper around or collect tokens is a marketers dream. And with the technology available, it doesn’t require a huge investment either.”

Steve Rothwell, chief executive, Eagle Eye Solutions added: “Eagle Eye Solutions is aiming to remove the barriers to entry for retailers to accept mobile vouchers at their point of sale, this relationship provides a road map for retailers, over the coming years, to reach nearly 100% of customers, regardless of whether they have an old style mobile or a new NFC-enabled mobile device. This relationship is critical to the development of the mobile industry for retailers, operators and consumers.”
